However, details about his early years are not as well-known.
What is known is that his father is Martin Sheen, an iconic actor in his own right.
He shared in the Netflix film, aka Charlie Sheen, that he spent part of his childhood in a nudist household.
He recalled: “Maybe for a month, or five, I’m not sure. I was 5, walking into the kitchen, and there were my naked parents.”

The film delves deeply into Sheen’s upbringing, including the episode of losing his virginity.
Sheen also detailed this event in his memoir, Book of Sheen, published on September 9.
He recounted it was with a Las Vegas escort, and it was ‘everything [he’d] hoped for.’
He explained it happened when he was 15 and a high school sophomore.

The now 60-year-old recalled the incident, saying it happened when he and a friend named Joey ‘borrowed’ his father’s credit card to pay for the service.
He described the ‘stunning redhead … responded with a degree of physical generosity neither of us knew existed’ and added: “She was [actress] Ann-Margret in her prime with a Mastercard swiper.”
He wrote: “I didn’t mind that the card swipe took longer than the act. It was everything … I could have dreamed of.”

He recounted that between the two boys, he ‘went first’ and that the woman requested him to ‘wake Dad up for an autograph’.
Sheen reminisced that when his father found out about the incident, he received a two-hour lecture on ‘sex versus love'.
Sheen wrote: “I kept emphasizing how beautiful Candy was and what a bargain Dad and I both got for the price. The look on his face indicated we were finished.”
Regarding his father’s reaction to the revelations in the book, Sheen shared on Good Morning America that his dad merely commented: “Your use of humor in your darkest moments is a gift to the reader.”
The film also highlighted that Sheen's name came to light as a client of ‘Hollywood Madam’ Heidi Fleiss in 1995, after he used traveler’s cheques to pay for one of her escort’s services.
Fleiss was interviewed in the documentary and discussed Sheen’s testimony against her in court.
Ultimately, Fleiss was convicted of tax evasion and money laundering and was sentenced to 37 months in prison.
