Robert Irwin has touched hearts with his recent heartfelt remarks about his late father, Steve Irwin, including his intentions to keep his father's 'legacy alive'.
The beloved Crocodile Hunter star tragically passed away at the age of 44 on September 4, 2006, coinciding with Father's Day in Australia.
His unexpected death was the result of an unprovoked stingray attack while he was filming an underwater documentary in the Great Barrier Reef.
Steve's children, Robert and Bindi, who were just two and eight years old at the time of his death, have both continued their father's legacy by becoming animal conservationists themselves.

Now 27, Bindi serves as the CEO of Australia Zoo, while 21-year-old Robert is making his mark as a nature photographer and TV presenter.
Most recently, he was announced as one of the celebrities joining the ballroom for the latest season of Dancing With The Stars, alongside his dance partner Witney Carson.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, he was asked what his dad might think about his decision to participate in the show, which kicks off on Tuesday, September 16.

The reporter inquired: "I was a huge fan of your dad's. What do you think he would say about this?"
Robert laughed and candidly replied: "I dunno. I really have no idea. Crikey. All the rhinestones and glitter, it’s quite a lot."
He went on: "But I think he always used to say, quite humorously, 'I don't care if people remember me. I want them to remember my message and what I stood for.'
"And I believe people do remember his message and him. He showed everyone what it truly meant to live life fully, and above all, he was the best dad ever."

Robert added emotionally: "He was always there for us. I just hope to keep his legacy alive, his spirit, and his passion for life.
"If I can bring that energy into the ballroom and honor him and his legacy, then I’ve done my job. That's all I'm aiming to do, to make him proud."
Fans have flocked to the comments section of the Instagram video to wish Robert well, with one user writing: "So inspiring! Robert Irwin is carrying on his father's incredible legacy."

Another added: "He is one of the greatest losses, yet his children are just like him, so it feels like he never left. What an amazing family. I rooted for Bindi, and now I'm rooting for Robert."
Robert has big shoes to fill, as his sister Bindi actually won the show back in 2015 when she was partnered with professional dancer Derek Hough.
Reacting to her brother joining the show, she shared a heartfelt message on Instagram once the news was announced to the world.
Bindi wrote: "Robert, you're going to absolutely shine in the ballroom. I wish I could express just how proud I am of you and everything you have achieved.
