Your pajamas might be affecting your relationship, says a relationship expert.
There’s nothing quite like climbing into bed wearing freshly laundered flannels and preparing for a restful night of Zzzs, but could this habit be damaging your connection?
Possibly.

Channa Bromley, a relationship coach, believes your PJs aren't exactly enticing.
“Comfort diminishes urgency,” Bromley shared with Newsweek.
She elaborated that wearing cozy clothes to bed can dampen your sex life as it sets a relaxed mood, indicating a lack of interest.
She remarked: “They’re more than just nightwear.

“They send a message. Opting for a cozy fleece onesie over seductive attire shows a preference for comfort over attraction.”
To her, this seemingly minor shift permeates all aspects of a relationship.
I must admit, I prefer sleeping in a onesie or PJs to being unclothed or in something seductive...I mean, I'm aiming to sleep, not to seduce.
Nevertheless, romance researchers claim that sleeping naked is more beneficial than wearing PJs, as it reportedly enhances relationship satisfaction.

A survey by Cotton USA revealed that 57 percent of couples who sleep naked reported being happier, compared to 48 percent who wear PJs and 43 percent who sleep in onesies.
Furthermore, a poll by Avocado Green Mattress found that sleeping nude had a positive impact, leading to more intimacy.
But it's not solely about sex.
According to Kecia Gaither, an OB/GYN, it also benefits your health.

She explained to The Post that “sleeping naked may enhance hormonal balance, including the production of sleep-related hormones like melatonin.”
This hormonal boost may also accelerate your metabolism and increase calorie burn during sleep.
However, if you’re not comfortable with the idea of sleeping nude, Bromley suggests wearing something that maintains some tension when sleeping next to your partner.

She stated: “Attraction flourishes on friction. It requires tension, contrast, and the delicate pull of desire against restraint.
“Cozy pajamas remove that dynamic. They replace the visual cues that spark attraction with something softer and safer.”
If you're hesitant about changing your sleepwear, she mentioned that you can still maintain intimacy by being conscious of whether you still view each other as lovers beneath the layers of blankets and fleece.
Ultimately, you can choose to pick each other's sleepwear or turn it into a playful activity.
You could even play strip poker before bed to see who ends up wearing less as a playful consequence.
Whatever you decide to wear, or not wear, is entirely your choice.
